Life Really Begins When You Hit Thirty
On December 22, 2023 by MisoAs you get onto by the name of the page, the writer is a millennial and turned into her/his thirties already. Even though this page showcases her/his painful challenges, endless questionings, and heartfelt disappointments; it is not all bad. Trust me, it is not. Life really begins when you hit thirty.
A raw egg must be fried before it gets to be a delicious omelette.
OMG! I guess this simile was not so right on the spot. But anyways I know that you get me
I have welcomed my age of thirty with a mixture of feelings as an ordinary any other person. Those feelings included fear, anger, desperation, disappointment, panic and worry. Of course there were some positive ones like…
Umm…
like…
I guess I cannot remember any of the positive feelings. Even if I had one, it was obviously not of a significant value for me to remember right now.
I am sorry for such a pessimistic description of my back-then state, but I know you can relate. Not everybody is happy as they turn thirty or any other age just because aging is great or they spent their previous years so happy and satisfied. I believe that those kind of people are really rare.
Why so questioning?
I believe that humans tend to take aging more of a concerning concept. This is mostly because of the fact that we run out of indefinite years handed over to us. Therefore, there is never enough time to satisfy our every need and want. We constantly feel like we could have done more, we could have achieved more or we could have lived the life more.
Our past years are reminisced mostly with regrets, unfulfilled wishes, disappointments and neglects. This is why we tend to not like aging because it reminds us our “wasted” years of the precious time we have in this world. We may also not be sure of our coming years whether we will be successful in fulfilling all our goals and dreams and that creates concerns resulting with unhappiness.
I was right at this state when I hit thirty and quite concerned about the future. I did not particularly felt my time was wasted in my previous experiences. Because I am such a Pollyanna looking for the good in every situation. Still, my heart and mind were full of unfulfilled dreams and wishes. I was questioning my past as well as my (back-then) current state and concerned about the future constantly.
I was not in despair or depression but just looking for answers hoping that future will be good as an optimistic individual. Optimistic people are not the ones who never feel down or blue, but are they the ones who know how to get out of that state by asking the right questions to look for answers. Having this type of positive and constructive attitude, our past days can become not “wasted” but lessons learnt.
Thirty is nifty
Eventually, your thirties become the best times of your life.
You have the experience and maturity you lacked in your twenties but still you have the energy and motivation to do things better even you start over. Also, you learn your weaknesses and strengths. After discovering your potential and limits, you realize your abilities, likes and dislikes. You become wiser.
A wise individual take lessons through discovery of themselves as deeply as possible and then make up for the lost energy, time and money from their past years regardless of their age. In contrary to the common acceptancy, it is the best time to change everything and start from the scratch if you need a start-over when you hit thirty.
Thirty is still young and passionate but also mature to start anew. You end up making all kind of mistakes in your twenties thinking you know the secret of life. This confidence comes from the ignorance in regards to how life works in reality. When you are thirty having faced with consequences of the mistakes you have made, you actually start breaking the code to life’s secret. And that secret is not about making no mistakes and get everything we want in the way we want but is all about making those mistakes to learn lessons from them.
At the end it is about the journey and the destination.
Thirties are the years you learn not give up no matter what and that there is no single way to where we want to reach. Our aspirations and dreams may come in a different form than we expect. When that happens, the time is never late and the place is never wrong.
Love your thirties and use these advantages to make your dream life true because,
I know you are hell of a fighter.
